Capricorn New Moon-Do You Still Want It?
Something I have been working with energetically for the upcoming new moon is how goals or visions can both guide and block us. How can they expire or change.
I’ve been noticing how tightly I’ve clung to the idea of opening a storefront in 2029. I made that decision in my 30s—it felt like the ultimate mark of legitimacy to me back then. But I’ll be 47 by then. So a dream that lived in my heart since I was 30 is still knocking, and this new moon is asking…
Do I still want it? Will she—future me—want it?
Or am I just holding onto an old version of a vision because it once gave me direction?
This is exactly what the Capricorn New Moon brings up: structure that once served us, turning into walls we can’t see, feel, taste, or touch.
- Capricorn is always about discipline, goals, structure.
- Cancer, its opposite, is about care, emotion, and trust in the body.
One without the other becomes dangerous.
--> Too much Capricorn and life gets rigid, cold, performative. You can literally suck the life out of anything.
--> Too much Cancer and we float, emotionally flooded, with no container.
I’ve felt both lately. It’s in alignment with this new moon.
The New Moon is a conjunction of Sun and Moon, and this time it is in Capricorn. Just before it lands, the Moon trines Uranus in Taurus, meaning disruption. After it hits, it sextiles Neptune in Pisces, meaning dreams, and dissolving beliefs.
That’s the story: break the rigid goal, and then dream it differently.
Long-term dreams/visions/goals are seeded in the moment they came into you, but that seed can and does change. It gets modified by life and circumstances. It gets modified by age, capacity, and desire.
My 30-year-old self is far different than my 43-year-old self today. So the seed has inevitably changed because my entire being has changed. Yet, my heart and mind still are rooted with this old vision/goal. So I have to revisit this from who I am today, not who I was yesterday.
So I’m using this moon to soften. To question the long-term goals, I never re-audited. To let future-me have a say. To modify the seed and consider the soul, I mean soil, it is being planted in now.
If you want to do this with me, I’ve included a prompt below. The Natal Chart Navigator is free and will walk you through your chart so you can find where Capricorn lives in you. Use the AI prompt to start unpacking where you’ve built too much—and where you need to let some water in.
How to Get This Magic Working ✨
1) Download your Natal Chart Navigator and save a screenshot to your phone in your photos (so you don’t have to repeat this step each week!).
2) Upload your Navigator into your favorite AI (I use ChatGPT)
3) Cut + paste the prompt below.
4) Sit back, read the reflection, and connect to the cosmos <3

🌑 "Where does my chart ask me to balance structure with trust?"
Prompt for AI:
“The Capricorn New Moon is stirring something deep: the dance between discipline and surrender. Can you guide me through where Capricorn (structure) and Cancer (intuition) reside in my chart? Please use the house cusps in Table 2 of the Natal Chart Navigator. I want to see my axis of control versus care—where I need stronger roots, and where I need to let water in. Help me explore what this tension means for the way I hold goals—and how to let them breathe without losing their shape.”
